New Talent for a new year!!!


As New Year approaches the Running in Traffic team successfully pass the half way point with only 10 shooting days remaining during this phase of principal photography. Supporting actors, Kenneth Cranham and Atta Yaqub have already made their appearances and the press are lapping it up. Look out for more from the production over the coming weeks and months.

Half way approaches

With the production now well underway, Running in Traffic rapidly approaches the half way mark with locations wrapped in Dunfermline and Paisley. As the cast and crew fight the daylight and subzero degree temperatures of a typical December shoot without any complaints, the tour continues with a move to Falkirk next and continue shooting in Glasgow city centre where the second thread of the storyline and new characters make their arrival.

Kenneth Cranham joins cast

Dabhand Films in association with Alcoba Films and Jigsaw Productions are delighted to announce that legendary British actor Kenneth Cranham has joined the cast of Running in Traffic this week. Kenneth will play Bill Cullen, opposite Bryan Larkin and Anne Downie.

Three days in


Spirits are high! Running in Traffic is now three days into principle photography and right on schedule. Kayla's story is being shot first. Cullen's commences this coming Sunday.

Principal Photography commences

Principal photography of the collaborative trio in Dabhand Films, Alcoba Films and Jigsaw productions of Running in Traffic is officially underway.

Shooting commenced in glamorous Paisley, Glasgow.

Onset was Anna Kerth, Douglas Russell and Natasha Robertson along with the 30+ crew.

Atta Yaqub joins cast

Rising star Atta Yaqub will join the Running in Traffic cast when shooting commences in early December 2007.

Atta's star has continued to rise since his debut as the lead in Ken Loach’s, Ae Fond Kiss and most recently in Nina's Heavenly Delights. On television he has appeared in ‘New Street Law’ (Red Productions), ‘Perfect Day’ (Perfect Day Productions), ‘Big Night Out’ (Red Productions) and ‘Meet the Magoons’ (Channel 4) and ‘Doctors’ (BBC). He was also nominated for the most promising newcomer at the British Independant Film Awards in recent times.

Anne Downie joins cast


Highly acclaimed Scottish actress and writer of ITVs 'The Bill' and numerous other T.V shows and plays, Anne Downie joins cast this week. Anne will play Anna Cullen. She is represented by Hundwich/Hughes of Edinburgh.

Lauren Lamarr joins cast

Lauren Lamarr joins cast. Newcomer Lauren has previously appeared in numerous short film and music videos. Running in Traffic is her feature film debut. Lauren is currently represented by Academy Castings.

Tony Greengrass joins cast

Tony Greengrass joins cast. Tony is currently represented by Academy Castings. Tony will appear opposite Anna Kerth and Lauren Lamarr.

Mark Prendergast joins cast

Mark Prendergast joins cast. Mark has previously appeared on the West End stage in Les Miserables, numerous short films and theatre productions throughout Scotland. Newcomer Mark also appeared in Dabhand Films acclaimed short films SCENE.

Mark will appear in Running in Traffic as Anton opposite Bryan Larkin and Ross Maxwell

George Geddes to shoot

As the project hits pre-production and the cast is assembled, the long list of new and established talent in Scotland gear up in the crew. George Geddes, one of the busiest cinematographers in Scotland is recruited as Director of Photography.

Casting update

Ross Maxwell is among the short list of newcomers to join the cast.
Ross has appeared in a number of short and feature films in the independant film circuit in Scotland. He is currently represented by All Talent UK. Ross will play the supporting lead role of Mick, opposite Bryan Larkin in the movie.

Stuart Cadenhead has joined the production as Associate Producer and 1st Assistant Director. Stuart, presently based in GMAC, Glasgow has developed his skills as a filmmaker in his own right through the NYFA and various short film schemes including GMAC's Cineworks and Digicult. Running in Traffic is his feature film debut.

Dale Corlett directs


As of August 07, New Zealand filmmaker Dale Corlett will officially direct the film.
Screenwriter Bryan Larkin and Corlett have been developing the script since June.

Anna Kerth secures lead

Dabhand Films in association with Alcoba Films and Jigsaw Productions are delighted to announce that Polish born actress and rising star of Na Wspólnej, Anna Kerth will portray the challenging role of struggling young writer, Kayla Golebiowski in their feature film debut.
Anna has also appeared in River City for BBC Scotland as the recurring character, Lena Krausky. Her other works include extensive theatre productions in her native Poland with Robert Wilson and other productions across the U.K

Pre Production commences for Dabhand Films

The BAFTA and multi award-winning production company Dabhand Films in association with Alcoba Films and Jigsaw Productions form the collaborative for their debut feature film.

Dabhand continue their success with their last project SCENE., as they officially move into pre-production with 'Running in Traffic'.

In June 07 company directors Bryan Larkin and Marc Twynholm initiated the production. Abigail Howkins from Alcoba Films was recruited as Producer to oversee the project with Twynholm and Larkin, while director Dale Corlett's, Jigsaw Productions Ltd form the remainder of the collaborative trio.

The film will host a handful of rising and established British and International talent, including Larkin himself who won the BAFTA Scotland award last year for his performance in the highly acclaimed short film SCENE.

The project is slated for principle photography in December 2007.
